My Body Gallery

(image from weheartit.com)

In the interest of Fat Acceptance, Health at Every Size, and general Body Positivity, I’d like to give some promotion to this (fairly new) website: My Body Gallery. Their own description:

This site is here as an accurate reflection of what real women look like. All women.

WHY?

A recent study found that 95% of non-eating disordered women overestimate the size of their hips by 16% and their waists by 25%, yet the same women were able to correctly estimate the width of a box.

You can search by measurements, weight, height, size, and body shape. I like these kinds of websites because sometimes seeing other people at your same size makes you feel better about yourself! This website is nice because you don’t have to show your face if you add a picture, and there are already tons of images on the site.

If you’re feeling brave enough, please submit! Or, just take a look at some of the bodies for yourself.

On Fashion, and Body Image

Yes, Body Image. With Capital Letters.

I recently bought, received, and wore the American Apparel Double-U Neck Dress.
I am 5'10" and a pretty solid size 10.

Here we go.

Ignoring the mess, this is me. I'm basically an hourglass, but I will never be smaller than a size 8 without pushing myself to hospitalization. And I wouldn't do that.

Blah blah blah.. what is this post about? Two things I guess.

1) I want to encourage everyone to love and accept their bodies as much as possible. I can't imagine myself with a significantly different body shape, and I don't want to. I'm healthy.

2) I might start posting outfits weekly(?). I know I don't have many readers but let me know if you're into this.
